Gamers for Giving is a competitive gaming event hosted each year by video game industry charity organization, Gamers Outreach Foundation. Backed by a story that resonates with many in the gaming community, since 2008, Gamers for Giving has been one of the largest competitive gaming tournaments in the midwest. The event features video game tournaments, special industry guests and a variety of activities for participants and spectators.
Profits from the event are used to support the work of Gamers Outreach Foundation. We build portable gaming carts for children’s hospitals, send video game care packages to troops overseas, and host online gaming events that benefit charity!
Gamers for Giving 2011 will be taking place on Saturday, June 18th at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center. Activities include a 2vs2 Halo Reach tournament, a 4vs4 Call of Duty Black Ops tournament (Xbox 360), a 1vs1 Starcraft 2 tournament (BYOC) and a 100 person BYOC console LAN party.
If you’re flying into the event, the closest airport to the venue and nearby hotels is the Detroit Metropolitan Airport (airport code: DTW). We’ve posted hotel information below.
